The University’s history goes back to 1952, when Hertfordshire County Council built Hatfield Technical College on land donated by the de Havilland aircraft company for educational use.

The college rapidly became a centre of excellence in mechanical and aeronautical engineering and the natural sciences, training engineers for Hatfield’s then dominant aerospace industry.

The University of Hertfordshire is a modern university based largely in Hatfield, in the county of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, from which the university takes its name. It has more than 23,000 students.As University of Hertfordshire reputation has grown year on year, both at home and overseas, University of Hertfordshire have had much to celebrate. Since gaining university status in 1992 University of Hertfordshire rate of growth, record of success and scale of investment are impressive.

The School of Psychology, University of Hertfordshire will offer four competitive University of Hertfordshire International Undergraduate Scholarships (undergraduate) scholarships and two postgraduate scholarships worth £2000 per applicant (to be deducted from tuition fees). These scholarships are in addition to the University of Hertfordshire 's International Student Scholarships for early payment of tuition fees.

The objective is to support deserving international students who wish to complete an undergraduate degree in psychology at UH. Scholarships will be awarded on a merit and/or hardship basis..

Eligibility

  1. Applicant must be self-financing and liable to pay tuition fees at the rate for overseas students.
  2. Applicant must not be sponsored by an employer
  3. Applicant must not be sponsored by a government
  4. Applicant must hold a conditional or unconditional offer of admission to a full-time BSc(Hons) Psychology programme at UH or a conditional/unconditional offer of admission to a full-time masters programme in psychology at UH which they have firmly accepted or which they intend to accept.
  5. Applicant must meet UH academic and English language entry requirements.
  6. Please note that accepting UH as an insurance offer does not satisfy the conditions relating to this scholarship.
  7. It is the responsibility of the applicant to apply for admission to UH. If you do not apply for admission, you will not be considered for a scholarship. Please make sure to apply for admission to UH in good time.
  8. Applicants must fulfil their financial obligations to the  University of Hertfordshire. 
Scholarship Value
£2000 per applicant.

How to apply

The recipients of the scholarship will be selected on the basis of academic merit and hardship. Documents from the applicants’ admissions application will be used in the selection of successful scholarship applicants. In addition, applicants should write to the School of Psychology stating that they wish to be considered for the scholarship and why they believe they should be selected for the scholarship. Application letters should be supported by a recommendation letter from the course tutor of applicant's most recent programme of study.
